What is Royalty Free?
Royalty free or (RF) simply put means, that when you buy a disc or a clip once you may use it as many times as you'd like, in any application you'd like. We don't think it should be any other way that's why FilmDisc.com only offers Royalty Free broadcast quality clips.

How can I receive the free clip of the month?
At the beginning of each month FilmDisc.com adds a new free clip, which is available to download for our registered users. Becoming a Registered user is simple and free. So, what are you waiting for?

Can I buy one clip from a specific disc?
Clips located in specific categories are available for immediate download on the FilmDisc.com site. For example, if the specific clip that you are looking for is located in our Bargain Basement, you can immediately download the single clip or request to have a disc with your clip, shipped to you.

What if I see a few clips that I would like to have but they are on different discs?
Filmdisc.com allows you to create your own discs! Just click on the make your own disc section, and pick and choose any 20 shots from any of the disc collections, (excluding agency gold). You can then download the shots you need right away and the rest can be placed on a disc and shipped out via your chosen shipping method. Orders made before 11am PST will most likely go out the same day.

How can I find out the original format for a specific film clip?
Almost all of the content in FilmDisc.com's library was shot in 35mm film (the same format that most movies are shot in), then transferred to High Definition, delivering the most amazing quality available today. Each film clip has specific information below it which will describe the format that the specific clip was shot in.

What is a Research Request?
Simply push the research request button and fill out the description of the project you are requiring footage for. FilmDisc.com will research your request free of charge. FilmDisc.com employs full time cinematographers, who are out in the field shooting quality footage. Therefore, if we are unable to find your request in one of our current collections, we may be able to shoot it for you at a considerable lower cost then you would pay for someone to produce it for you. It is a great way to receive the film clips that you really need, while staying within allotted budget and time constraints.

Why should I use the lightbox?
When you become a registered user, you'll be able to utilize the Lightbox, which is a great tool for you and clients. When you search for clips and you come across one that you like, simply add it to the lightbox and it will be saved. If you'd like, you can then send a link to your client allowing them to view your chosen clips.

How are FilmDisc.com's discs made?
Our cinematographers shoot the majority of the FilmDisc.com library in 35 mm film. This film is then processed, and ran through a very special device called a telecine machine, where the film is converted to digital video. During this process we alter many parameters, pull down the blacks and build deep rich colors through a color corrector. Once the clip is in a digital format, it is run through a proprietary noise reducer, eliminating any unwanted noise that may be on the clip. Finally the clip is converted into individual Quicktimes then recorded onto a master disc.

What type of film management is used on FilmDisc.com's discs?
We have created a very special viewer located on each disc which is purchased through a collection. This simple user interface allows you to play all the clips in a window giving you an opportunity to view their timing them before you copy them to your video application.

What do I do if I forgot my login information?
Just send us your email address from the link below and we will promptly resend your login information to that address.

Why do I get a message that says I can't process my order?
Check to make sure that you have completed all the fields in the order form.

How do I know if my order went through?
After you have made your purchase, go to "My Account" and see if the order that you have just placed, appears in your account. Your product will then be ready for immediate download or may be already on its way with your selected shipping method.

What is your return policy?
You have ten days from the date of purchase to return your unopened disc, as long as the seal has not been broken. We will then credit your account and allow you to select a disc from another collection of the same price.

What If I have scratched or broken a disc?
In the event that you damage a disc, send us your original disc and a copy of your receipt and we will send you a new disc, free of charge for as long as you own the disc. No questions asked.

Can I fill out a credit application?
FilmDisc.com gives you different options to purchase your film clips. We understand that many clients have stringent time constraints and often need their media now, but are required to submit purchase orders to accounting before they can buy product, slowing the project down even further. Our solution is simple. Just fill out a credit application with FilmDisc.com and in most cases we can set up your account so that you can own your film clips by the end of the day.

What does FilmDisc.com do with your information?
Your personal information, including credit card information is strictly confidential. FilmDisc.com will not sell your information to other suppliers or mailing lists. However, FilmDisc.com may send you materials regarding upcoming specials or new products that may be useful for your organization.

How do I become a filmdisc.com dealer?
First begin by registering as a filmdisc.com dealer in the affiliates section. After you have become a registered Filmdisc.com affiliate, you will receive an affiliate ID number via email. You can then use your affiliate ID number to access our dedicated site, allowing you to browse, download and use any of the clips for web development or print applications you may have.
